Elana McDonald MD, FAAP

Elana McDonald MD, FAAP

Pediatrician, Owner & Medical Director
Dr. McDonald, is a board-certified general pediatrician in Philadelphia, with over 18 years of experience. She is a graduate of Temple University and Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine at Hershey Medical Center. She completed a 3-year pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in 2003. Dr. McDonald is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is the proud mother of two sons.

Christine Ferandos-Petrozzino MD, FAAP

Board Certified Pediatrician
Dr. Ferandos-Petrozzino is inspired by the spirit and resilience children exhibit every day. She has been practicing in Pediatrics since 2008 and joined the family of Pizzica Pediatrics in 2015. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from the University of Florida and her medical degree from St. George's University Medical School in 2002. She then completed her pediatric residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and subspecialty training in Pediatric Cardiology at UCSD Rady Children's Hosp in 2008. Dr. "F" is board certified in General Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. When spending family time, she enjoys traveling, playing video games, and watching anime.

Shimeng Tang CRNP, RN

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
Shimeng Tang CRNP, RN is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She graduated from Sun Yat-sen University in China with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She received Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She is interested in pediatric care and women’s health. 
She joined Memphis Street Pediatrics in 2013. Born and raised in China, she is a native
speaker of Mandarin Chinese. She lives in Philadelphia with her family and 3 dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities, learning new language (Spanish for now) and traveling.

Maia was born and raised in Bermuda, a small 21-sq-mile island in the Atlantic. She completed her studies at Gwynedd Mercy University. She has previously worked at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, Firely Pediatrics and Patient First Urgent Care. Maia is board certified as a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Outside of her role at Memphis Street Pediatrics, she enjoys cooking, live music, movies and spending time with her family.

She previously worked at Cooper University Hospital as a registered nurse while obtaining her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care. She is certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and cooking.

Elizabeth “Bess” Staebler, CRNP, MSN, RN has been working at Pizzica Pediatrics since 2013. She has spent her entire life in Philadelphia. She attended college at the University of Pennsylvania. She previously worked as a nurse at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and as a school nurse in Lower Merion School District. She then returned to Penn where she received her master’s degree as a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Bess has interests in contraceptive counseling for teenagers and childhood mental health. She is currently pursuing a certificate as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. When she is not taking care of her beloved patients, Bess enjoys reading, hiking, indoor cycling and cooking. She lives in Philadelphia with her dog, Lyle, who was rescued from Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.

Our themed waiting and examination rooms are designed to provide a welcoming environment for our patients and their families. We draw blood on site, in our laboratory.
